Ofsted Inspection Success
We are incredibly proud to announce that Barraclough Hall has received a significant outcome from our recent Ofsted inspection this year.
The report, which is now published on both the Ofsted and Barraclough Hall School’s websites — is a powerful recognition of the safe, supportive, and nurturing environment we have worked so hard to create over the past year since opening.
The report highlights only a snippet of what we do here for our children and are extremely proud of the outcome achieved. This has been achieved with establishing a strong culture, relational practice and relentless focus on implementing, understanding and supporting children with complex needs.
Headteacher Jane Cubley shared their reflections on the inspection:
“I am extremely delighted that the recognition of the safe, supportive, and nurturing environment we have created at Barraclough Hall School is recognised. The report clearly reflects the care and commitment to our young people every day. The alignment of inclusion. safeguarding and quality of education is paramount to ensuring the best possible outcomes for our children are achieved.”
Inspectors highlighted that the school provides a positive, welcoming provision which is calm and purposeful where pupils can learn because they feel safe and understood by the staff team. Pupils enjoy warm and respectful relationships with staff who know them well and understand their needs. This is a credit to our staff and shows the strength of relationships across the school.
Pupils access an extensive curriculum and enrichment offer. Pupils are proud of what they achieve, with an ambitious curriculum designed to meet the needs of pupils who join the school at different points in their education and achievements link well with their targets outlined in their EHCP’s. Leaders and staff gain an in-depth understanding of pupils’ interests, talents and needs. They are ambitious for pupils both socially and academically and have a keen understanding of pupils’ needs and abilities.
It is also wonderful to see that Ofsted have recognised “strong relationships with allocated key adults in school who encourage pupils to engage with personal development opportunities and to feel a sense of belonging in the school”– were also noted as significant strengths.
The report also included helpful guidance for our next steps, particularly in developing a handwriting strategy and to continue to broaden the range of qualifications and awards. These development points are already being embraced by our dedicated staff team.
“We are looking forward to developing further and growing our community where we will continue to demonstrate a positive impact on all our young people and families.”
We would like to thank our students, staff, parents, and wider community for being part of this journey. This result marks an exciting milestone and confirms that Barraclough Hall School is firmly on the path of excellence.
